Congratulations to the 2010 recipients of the Springfield Regional Arts Council's annual OZZIE Awards, presented to individuals and organizations who have promoted, personified and/or supported the arts in Springfield, announced earlier this week. The Legacy Award went to the late Robert E. Smith; outgoing MSU President Dr. Mike Nietzel received the Leadership Award for his vision for the Idea Commons in downtown Springfield; Artsfest on Walnut Street co-chairs Lisa Blumenstock and Anna Squires received the Individual Awards; the Organization Award went to the Logan-Rogersville High School Show-Me Arts Committee. The Corporate Art Collector Award went to BKD, LLP; and the Prater Family won the Individual Art Collector Award. This year's Ozzie sculptures were created by Jacob Burmood.
