24th Annual Firefall Celebration


June 25, the city of Springfield will celebrate Independence Day with Firefall, the all-day event that concludes with the Concert in the Sky. KSMU's Missy Shelton has the story.

The city of Springfield will celebrate Independence Day with the 24th annual Firefall tomorrow at the north end of the Springfield-Branson Regional Airport.

Dan Kinney, the Director of the Springfield-Greene County Park Board explains what activities the day will offer.

Several bands will perform during Firefall including the Lefty Brothers and the Big Beat.

Firefall will also welcome the World War Two Airborne Demonstration Team. They'll perform a World War Two-style parachute jump with approximately 27 paratroopers. Everyone is invited to come meet these veterans and all veterans are invited to wear their dress uniforms so they can be recognized and honored.
