4th annual Springfield Shakespeare Festival May 20 - June 6

Skinny Improv Comedy Theatre and Swan Repertory Theatre announce the 4th annual Springfield Shakespeare Festival, to run May 20 through June 6, in association with Springfield Contemporary Theatre, Springfield Greene-County Park Board, and Springfield Regional Arts Council. This year the festival expands to two performance venues: Jordan Valley Park and the Vandivort Theater. Bryon Moses directs the Shakespeare in the Park production of "Comedy of Errors" May 20-30 in Jordan Valley Park Thursdays through Sundays at 8:15pm. It's free and open to the public. In order to "Keep Will Free," Shakespeare in the Park is still accepting donations--visit www.theskinnyimprov.com. And the contemporary parody "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)," a spoof of the Bard's most famous works performed by only three actors, will run at the Vandivort Center Theatre May 22-June 6, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2:00pm. George Cron directs. Discount tickets for the Vandivort show will be available to anyone attending the free Shakespeare in the Park.
