The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the US Chamber of Commerce to host a job fair for veterans and their spouses. KSMU’s Jennifer Moore has details.
The job fair will be Thursday, March 15, at the National Guard Armory. That’s at 1400 North Fremont Avenue. It will from from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is free for military veterans and their spouses—as well as for the employers who wish to get involved.
According to a release from the Chamber, there are 50 participating employers with jobs available. The Chamber is encouraging other employers to participate if they have a job opening. Businesses wanting to register need to do so by the end of day Friday (March 9): to do so, business owners can go to www.hoh.greatjob.net. Veterans and military spouses do not need to register to attend.
The job fair is part of the “Hiring Our Heroes” program, which the Chamber says has helped more than 6,000 veterans and military spouses find employment nationwide.
