Greene County residents who need to cast an absentee vote in the upcoming Primary Election can do so Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm at the Greene County Clerk’s Office.County Clerk Richard Struckhoff says the extra hours are great for absentee voters who want to avoid weekday traffic and parking congestion.The deadline for casting an absentee ballot in person at the clerk’s office is 5 pm on the day before the election.If you plan to vote absentee by mail, you must be sure your written request for a ballot arrives at the clerk’s office by 5 pm tomorrow (7/28). The request must be signed, state the reason for voting absentee, list a party preference and contain a mailing address.State laws restrict the use of absentee voting to those with legal reasons such as absence from the county on election day.
