A unique eight-week youth theater workshop at Main Stage Creative Community Center in Eureka Springs will culminate with performances at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday August 6 and 7 at The Gem, inside the Eureka Springs city auditorium. The production, entitled "Art Evolved," will focus on individuality and artistic expression through seven different areas of art: visual, photo, dance, puppetry, set design, pottery and live performance. Kids age 7 to 17 will be performing or exhibiting works in the show; they were mentored by a cadre of Eureka professional artists including George Meyer and Melanie Linker. Their own performances or works will also appear in the production. Admission is $7; children under 12 admitted free. Tickets are available from the young artists themselves, or at the door before the performances.
