If you enjoy tapping your shoe to an evening of Mariachi music, then you are in luck. The 8th annual ArtsFiesta is coming to Founders Park on Friday, May 4th from 6-9pm.
Springfield’s Sister City Association is putting on the event. Cindy Jobe is the coordinator.
“ArtsFiesta is just a great family event, that’s one of the reasons why we hold it in a park in downtown Springfield. The idea is that it’s just a nice family event where Sister Cities brings in a mariachi band, and actually there’s another feature performer this year called Shiela Rios. She is an amazing talent. We bring those performers in to simply create an event and share culture of our sister city with folks here in Springfield.”
ArtsFiesta is a celebration of culture and the music of Springfield’s Sister City, Tlaquepaque, Mexico. In addition to the musical performers, the event will host Grupo Libertad--which is a group of festive dancers from Branson--and free games for children.
Admission is $5, but children 10 and under get in for free.
Jobe recommends you bring the whole family and some lawn chairs or blankets, and enjoy a night of cultural rhythms in downtown Springfield.
