Author Visits Springfield to Advocate New Political Thinking

The man behind the book being billed as a voters guide to the upcoming election will be in Springfield tomorrow at 7PM. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.

The man behind the book being billed as a voters guide to the upcoming election will be in Springfield tomorrow (Thursday) at 7 p-m.

Larry Bradley is the author of "Neither Liberal Nor Conservative Be".

And, he will speak at Missouri State University during a discussion intended to promote dialogue and encourage voting for the upcoming election.

Bradley says discussions about politics within the public have become more difficult with the constant media coverage that surrounds political parties and policies.

So, he says the public needs to look at elections in a different light by choosing candidates on a "what will you do for me" basis.

Bradley says his speech tomorrow (Thursday) will cover the issue of how to analyze candidates and proposals and then how to discuss these topics publicly.

Additionally, he says he wants to talk about one of the major issues in the upcoming election... the War in Iraq.

He says he thinks the public is confused about the choices America has with the situation in Iraq and he wants to shed some light on the options he believes we actually have.

Larry Bradley's speech will take place in the Traywick Parliamentary Room in the Plaster Student Union at Missouri State.

The event begins at 7 p-m.
