Baseball Hall of Famer Visits Springfield

Baseball Hall of Famer and former Orioles pitcher Jim Palmer is in Springfield to talk to fans about high cholesterol. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.

Baseball Hall of Famer and former Orioles pitcher Jim Palmer will throw out the first pitch at the Springfield Cardinals game tonight. He's in town to talk to fans about high cholesterol.

With most of your cholesterol determined by family history, Palmer says that some people will have high cholesterol, no matter how healthy they eat. He says he wants to raise awareness so that even people who have a healthy lifestyle will get their cholesterol checked. He says left unchecked, it can cause serious cardiovascular problems.

Again, Baseball Hall of Famer will be at the Springfield Cardinals game tonight at 7:10 at Hammons Field.
