If you’ve been living in Springfield for any number of years, you may have heard of “The Big Read.” That’s a community reading program sponsored by the Springfield-Greene County Library district. Well, now, as part of that program, the library district is also putting on “The Big Bleed.” KSMU’s Melanie Foehrweiser explains.
The “Big Bleed” is a blood drive that will happen on April 16th. “The Big Read” has always been about community involvement. One way the library is getting involved this year is by partnering with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks for “The Big Bleed.” Anyone who wants to donate blood can visit one of the CBCO donor centers. The CBCO will also have donation sites set up at several library branches including Willard, Republic, and the Library Station. All donors will receive a Big Bleed t-shirt. For more information on the Big Bleed, visit our website, www.KSMU.org.
For KSMU News, I’m Melanie Foehrweiser.
