Springfield Little Theatre begins 2011 with "Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" January 28-February 13 at the Landers Theatre, 311 E. Walnut. The "King of the Road," the late Roger Miller, composed a jubilant score with Cajun, gospel, folk, country and blues elements, to shepherd the audience down the Mighty Mississippi with Huck Finn, searching for a new life, and Jim the runaway slave, searching for freedom. Beth Domann directs the production, with choreography by Lorianne Dunn and musical direction by Brooke Stephens. The production is scheduled Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30, and 2:30pm matinees Saturdays and Sundays through February 13.
