Organizers of the Greater Ozarks Blues Festival have announced the dates and line-up for this years event. Mike Smith has the story:
The 10th annual Greater Ozarks Blues Festival will be held in downtown Springfield September 8th and 9th, and this year will feature 2 headliners for the Saturday night finale.
Monte Lorts chairs the GOBF Talent Committee. He says Saturday September 9th at 6:30 PM, Elvin Bishop will take to the stage, followed by a performance by Johnny Winter at 8:30.
Other performers scheduled include Cajun Blues man Tab Benoit, Belgrade based Ana Popovic, and from Chicago, norman Jackson and the Pawn Shop.
Around 10,000 Blues fans are expected to attend the two day/night event which will take place on north Campbell between Tampa and Phelps Avenues.
The Greater Ozarks Blues Festival is operated by and of benifit for three area not for profit organizations: The Springfield Symphony, Springfield Little Theatre, and The Blues Society of the Ozarks.
