Carthage Acoustic Music Festival

The 9th annual Carthage Acoustic Music Festival takes place Friday and Saturday June 11 and 12. The Friday evening concert is at 7:00pm at the Carthage R-9 Schools Auditorium, 710 S. Main, and features Bluestem, a group combining western, bluegrass, rock, gospel and humor. Tickets are available in advance at the Powers Museum, 1617 W. Oak in Carthage, or at the door Friday night. Saturday June 12, performances take place all day in downtown Carthage at the northeast corner of the Jasper County Courthouse Square. Bring folding chairs or a blanket for seating. Free performances all day by, among others, Bailed Green & Wired Tight, Bluestem, Chris Johnson, Alan Young, and On the Edge, followed by a jam session at 9pm.
