The Galleries of First Friday Art Walk invite you to Center City Saturday, a day of fun, free, family-friendly activities on Saturday Sept.18 in downtown Springfield. Hollywood Theaters, 415 W. College will host a free showing of the hit animated comedy "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" in 3-D at 10am, and the Park Central Branch Library will offer a day-long marathon of family-friendly films. Springfield Hot Glass Studio at 314 S. Campbell will live glass-art demonstrations--the glass artists will be making glass pumpkins in honor of fall. Meet designer and artist Stephanie Stephens at Good Girl Art, 325 E. Walnut Suite 101; she'll be working on origami chandeliers, and there will be a drawing to win one of them. Also, Jared Gillett's ongoing show, "For Kids." Global Fayre, 324 S. Campbell, continues their exhibit "Art Through a Lens," featuring photography by members of the Southwest Missouri Camera Club. And while you're in the center city area, visit one of the area's largest fall arts and crafts festivals, the 13th annual Cider Days on Walnut Street (10am-5pm Sept.18 and 19). Center City Saturday is presented the third Saturday of each month by members of First Friday Art Walk and the Downtown Springfield Association.
