Center City Saturday, a collaborative downtown happening presented the 3rd Saturday of the month from 1-5 p.m. by members of First Friday Art Walk and the Downtown Springfield Association, is coming up this Saturday March 20. Designed as a casual, family-friendly daytime event, Center City Saturday strives to introduce visitors of all ages to the art, culture, entertainment, fashion, food and fun of the Downtown Arts District. Other highlights of the March 20 Center City Saturday include:• EASTER ORNAMENTS. Welcome spring at Good Girl Art Gallery, 325 E. Walnut St., Suite 101, where artist Jesse Cox will be hand-painting personalized Easter ornaments. You can also enjoy art by March featured artists Elaine Pawlowicz and Eric Vaughn.• NEW ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXHIBIT. Stop by the MSU Student Exhibition Center, 838 E. Walnut St., for "Jordan Through the Ages: An Archaeological Exhibit." This unique show, presented by the MSU History Department, highlights the ongoing excavations at Tall Hisban, a medieval Islamic castle site with a Biblical past, and the Northern Jordan Project, an archaeo-environmental project in the northern hill country. • Enjoy photography and digital photo creations by Clarissa French, as well as paintings by Joy Hyde and 2- and 3-dimensional works by 20 other regional artists, at Springfield Regional Arts Council's Fresh Gallery, Campbell and Walnut. They'll hold a free raffle for a matted 11 by 14 print of your choice by Clarissa French.• Fitzwilly’s Gifts & Antiques, 308 South Ave., will feature works by award-winning artist Charli Stout, ranging from landscapes to modern design. • See live demonstrations by master glass artists at Springfield Hot Glass Studio, 314 S.
