The Springfield Chamber of Commerce will announce the 2012 Springfieldian Friday evening. KSMU’s Melanie Foehrweiser has details.
According to a release from the Chamber, the award is given to someone who has shown integrity of character, career success and community involvement. Last year’s award was given to Bill Darr, founder of two dehydrated food companies and the Darr Family Foundation.
The award is given at the Chamber’s annual meeting, which will be at the University Plaza Convention Center. Chamber officers and retiring directors will also be recognized at the meeting. More than 900 Chamber members are expected to attend.
