Christopher Donegan, who has described himself as a fiscal conservative, has thrown his support behind a citizen group’s proposal to fix the ailing Police and Fire Pension plan.
The proposal calls for an end to the current “Capital Improvements Program” tax, and suggests that the money from that quarter-cent sales tax instead go toward the Police and Fire Pension Plan.
Donegan says he believes that will be enough to fund the gaping hole in the budget.
