Steve Lindenberg is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Springfield. He tells us what we can expect over the next few days…
"It'll gradually warm up for the first few days of the week here. Today we probably won't get above freezing. We're looking at mid 20s here in the Springfield area and another cold night tonight in the teens. We'll start to see a little bit of a warm up on Tuesday as the Arctic air mass shifts off to the east and we get more of a southerly wind. It'll probably get above freezing into the mid 30s. Then, by Wednesday, we're looking at the upper 30s."
A storm system will move into the Ozarks Wednesday night bringing with it a chance for light freezing rain or freezing drizzle…
"It's still in the developing phases, but at this point it looks like it's going to be fairly light, although with the cold air mass that we've had in place, it could set the stage for developing some icy spots on the roadways Wednesday night."
A wind chill advisory is in effect until 9 this morning for parts of southwest and south central Missouri.
