Columbia College held a ribbon cutting ceremony today to celebrate the move of its southwest Missouri location from Ozark to Springfield. KSMU’s Melanie Foehrweiser reports.
It’s also celebrating 15 years of education in the Ozarks. Kathy Gress, the director of Columbia College-Springfield, says that Columbia College is different from other colleges in the area.
“Our courses meet eight weeks, so two courses within an eight week period constitutes a full time load for a student and those in-seat classes only meet one night a week for eight weeks. So, two classes allows for a full time schedule for someone who is balancing work and family and still allows a student to finish a four year degree in four years.”
The college offers day and evening classes as well as online degrees. Gress says the college is also very military friendly because soldiers can take online classes from anywhere they are stationed around the world. Registration for the March session begins February 13th. The Springfield campus is located at 3271 East Battlefield. For more information call 881-4466.
