Today, the Community Foundation of the Ozarks announced it has just completed the most successful year in its 33 year history. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.

Today (Monday), the Community Foundation of the Ozarks announced it has just completed its most successful year in its 33 year history.

CFO's 2005-2006 annual report shows that assets grew, contributions were up and there were many new charitable funds established.

Gary Funk is President and CEO of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.

Funk says the success is the result of ongoing efforts in communities throughout the Ozarks to educate people on the importance of philanthropy and the power of grant making.

Funk says the success of CFO has implications for local communities where the foundation is involved.

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks is a public foundation that includes more than one thousand charitable funds that both private donors and organizations have established.
