At the Democratic National Convention in Boston Wednesday, delegates cast their ballots and chose John Kerry as their party's presidential nominee. KSMU's Missy SHelton spoke with the woman chosen to participate in the roll call on behalf of Missouri.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT, DONNA CUSHMAN REPRESENTED MISSOURI DURING THE ROLL CALL AT THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION IN BOSTON.
DONNA CUSHMAN, A RETIRED KINDERGARTEN TEACHER SPOKE WITH K-S-M-U A COUPLE OF HOURS BEFORE HER BIG MOMENT.
AND CUSHMAN SAYS IT'S AN ESPECIALLY NICE TREAT FOR HER MOTHER, WHOSE BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEKEND.
IN PREPARATION FOR THE ROLL CALL, CUSHMAN SAYS SHE GOT A SCRIPT TO READ OVER AND MEMORIZE.
THE ROLL CALL CAME SHORTLY AFTER VICE PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE JOHN EDWARDS ADDRESSED THE CONVENTION.
