The Direscor of Missouri's Department of Economic Development met in Springfield Wednesday with city and higher education officials and business leaders. Mike Smith has the story:
Hosted by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce Governmental Relations Committee, Missouri Department of Economic Development Director Greg Steinhoff discussed priority issues such as Governor Blunt's Lewis and Clark Initiative as it relates to the sale of MOHELA, the status of eminent domain, and TIF reform.
Steinhoff tells KSMU News that it's important to pay attention to the needs of manufacturing interests in the state and is especially excited about what the future holds for Missouri State University's Jordan Valley Innovation Center under construction in Springfield's downtown area.
For KSMU News, I'm Mike Smith.
