The seventh annual Eureka Springs Bluegrass Weekend runs August 20-23 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, kicking off Thursday the 20th with a Watermelon Social in Basin Spring Park. Bring your own fiddle, guitar, bass, banjo, or just your vocal cords and join in random, impromptu jam sessions. All the shows are FREE and open to the public, and the entire weekend event will be held outdoors. Performances in Basin Spring Park get underway Friday morning Aug.21st. Scheduled to appear during the weekdn are the Cobb Family, gospel-music veterans the Williams Family , Lonnie and Sheila, the Buffalo City Ramblers, Karl Shiflett, the Ozark Alliance, Buddy Griffin, Donnie Catron and Pam Kirby, Arkansas Red, and the Hillbenders. Sunday the 23rd is a gospel show with the Williams Family from 1 to 3pm. And after the shows Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, the Swiss Village Inn near US 62 and state highway 23, will host another free event for performers, residents and tourists, a pickin' party near the pool each night that may last 'til sunrise!
