Expedia, one of the largest online travel companies in the world, is adding up to 100 new jobs in Springfield. This news comes less than 48 hours after the manufacturing company Regal-Beloit announced that it would close its Springfield plant, affecting 330 employees.
According to Expedia, many of the new positions will be entry-level financial support jobs. Those will require a high school diploma, and college courses and degrees are preferred. They will be full-time, hourly positions, and they will come full benefits packages.
Expedia is also hiring supervisors for its financial operations department. Those positions require at least three years of accounting and supervising experience. They are full-time, salaried positions with full benefits.
The online travel company is encouraging job-seekers to come to its job fair Tuesday, July 30, from 9:00 to 6:00 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Springfield. That’s located at 4155 South Nature Center Way.
Since establishing a presence in Springfield in 2001, Expedia, Inc. today has grown its local workforce to include more than 850 employees.
According to a release from the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Expedia is taking advantage of tax credits available through the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
