During the Ozarks Celebration Festival, the final Jane A. Meyer Carillon Concert of the season will take place at an EARLY START TIME of 4:00pm. Guest soloist is Carlo J. Van Ulft, a native of Holland who is director of the Centralia Carillon in Illinois; he has appeared as a guest recitalist at all the major carillon festival and summer series around the world. He'll play a wide variety of music, from Suppe's "Poet and Peasant" Overture to excerpts from keyboard concertos by Bach to a set of improvisations on classic pop songs, as well as original compositions for the carillon by Ronald Barnes and more. It's free and open to the public--just bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating outside the Carillon Tower attached to Meyer Library on the MSU campus. In case of rain audience members will be able to sit indoors in the Library's auditorium with the sound of the carillon piped in.
