Due to all the combustible material still lying around in Joplin following the May 22nd tornado, the city’s fire chief, Mitch Randles, has banned fireworks usage in certain areas in Joplin. Fireworks may still be sold within the city July 1st thru 4th only and may be discharged on those dates only between the hours of noon and 11 pm. The city of Joplin prohibits the sale, possession or discharge of bottle rockets within city limits. Joplin’s Rockin’ 4th of July Independence Day Celebration will go on as scheduled.
