The Springfield Regional Arts Council, with help from the Junior League of Springfield, will offer a community-wide Free Art Day at The Creamery Arts Center, 411 N.Sherman Parkway across from Hammons Field, Saturday, February 19 from 10 a.m. to noon. Several fun activity stations will be available, including Mardi Gras mask-making, St. Patrick’s Day clover weaving, and printmaking. The Springfield-Greene County Library will also provide storytelling at 10:45 and 11:15. All ages and artistic abilities are welcome for the hands-on art activities, and no registration is required. Every participant can create and take home one item at each station, with instruction and supplies provided by Springfield Regional Arts Council staff and volunteers. The Arts Council holds Fre Art Day the 3rd Saturday of every other month, coinciding with "Center City Saturdays" in downtown Springfield.
