Geologist conducts ground-penetrating radar research at local historical cemetery

Much can be found just below the surface, and geologists use advanced technology to discover what’s there and what it means. Dr. Kevin Mickus, professor of geology at Missouri State University, has received a $4,000 grant from the City of Springfield for a ground penetrating radar study of Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield to attempt to identify possible locations of graves in the southern portion of the cemetery. He shares about his research.
