GO LEAD Offers Two Fall Series on Nonprofit Management, Leadership

GO LEAD: Professional Development for the Nonprofit Sector at Missouri State University recently received designation as an Approved Continuing Education Provider by Certified Fundraising Executives International (CFRE) in August 2010. GO LEAD is the only approved CFRE provider in the southwest Missouri area.
As a CFRE provider, all professional development workshops offered by GO LEAD provide preapproved CFRE continuing education points to nonprofit professionals for use when applying for an initial or renewed CFRE certification.
Fall series to offer CFRE education points
GO LEAD will begin two of its CFRE-approved series, The Nuts and Bolts of Nonprofit Management and Nonprofit Leadership in the 21st Century, Sept. 29. Each series consists of eight half-day sessions that meet monthly from September-May.
The Nuts and Bolts of Nonprofit Management series, which will meet from 8:30 a.m.-noon, will discuss the best practices for nonprofit organizations. The Nonprofit Leadership in the 21st Century series, which will meet from 1-5 p.m., is geared toward those professionals who have already completed the Nuts and Bolts series by building upon those concepts and practices. All sessions will meet at the Meyer Alumni Center, 300 S. Jefferson, Room 101.
The cost to participate in each of these series is $195. Some scholarships may be available, especially for representatives from member agencies of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.
Participants may register by calling (417) 836-4711, by mail or online. Limited space is available for each series, and registrations must be received by Sept. 17. A complete listing of session dates and details is available online at http://golead.missouristate.edu.
Two new GO LEAD series will also be offered in 2011. The Early Career Development series consists of five half-day sessions and will begin Jan. 11. The Board Development series consists of three two-hour sessions and will begin in March.
