Governor Matt Blunt visited the Springfield Watershed Committee's Education Center today to announce his appointment of Todd Parnell as the newest member of the Clean Water Commission. KSMU's Joe Morgan was there and has more.
The Clean Water Commission works to conserve state water resources and protect, maintain and enhance the quality of public water supplies. Today Governor Blunt appointed Todd Parnell, interim president of Drury University and chairman of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks as the newest member of the Clean Water Commission. Parnell says he is looking forward to the challenge.
Governor Blunt explains why he feels the Clean Water Commission is so important in southwest Missouri.
Blunt also says that water protection and enhancement is a huge issue for Missouri so the Commission will continue to do what it can to improve water quality.
Todd Parnell will be replacing Thomas Hermann on the Commission after Senate confirmation. His term will expire on April 12, 2008. For KSMU News, I'm Joe Morgan.
