Governor Matt Blunt is overseas today in Kosovo to meet with Missouri troops stationed at the Kosovo Force Headquarters. KSMU's Jennifer Moore has details.
While in Kosovo, Blunt will meet with leaders of the Kosovo Force Headquarters and spend time at Camp Bondsteel visiting with soldiers from the Missouri National Guard.
More than 1,000 citizen soldiers of the Missouri National Guard are currently working in Kosovo. Since September 11, 2001, almost 8,000 citizen soldiers and airmen have been mobilized.
As governor, Blunt is the Commander in Chief of the Missouri National Guard. He previously visited troops serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait, as well as those recovering at the Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany.
