Dan Bigbee is one of the market organizers and is a grower. He says there will be 20 to 25 vendors there this weekend selling a variety of items…Produce is a little slim this time of year but Bigbee says there will be more available in the coming weeks. He says there are several reasons that people like to shop at the farmers’ market.

You don’t have that opportunity when you go to the grocery store. You also keep money in the local economy. It’s pretty much a win-win for our community.”

This year, the farmers’ market will still be in the Battlefield Mall parking lot but in a different location.

Cut 2 :30“We are moving up to the corner of Battlefield and Glenstone so we can be much more visible. Before, people who were driving on Battlefield and Glenstone couldn’t see us. We did a winter market at that location and we found there was a tremendous amount of people who drive by everyday and had no idea there was a farmers’ market there three days a week.”
