Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan announced Wednesday that the Greene County Clerk’s Office has been awarded a grant totaling over 180,000 dollars. KSMU's Chasity Mayes reports.
The grant was given to help the county ensure fair and accurate elections. Specifically, the funds will help local voter lists stay up-to-date as well as improve the efficiency of elections. Carnahan’s office is making over 7 million dollars available to local governments across Missouri for the 2010 elections. Greene County alone could receive almost 300,000 dollars of that money.
