The deadline for paying your property taxes is quickly approaching. As KSMU's Missy Shelton reports, more people in Greene County are taking advantage of an online payment service.
Greene County property and real estate taxes are due by December 31st. And Greene County Collector Scott Payne reminds you that you can pay those taxes online.
Payne says the number of people using the online payment system is double what it was last year. He says it's cheaper for the county to process online payments and it saves taxpayers time and postage. He says the site is secure. The web address where you can make payments is www.countycollector.com

One more note...If you have questions about your property taxes, you need to contact the Greene County Assessor's office...and putting that off is probably not a good idea since the last week of the year is the busiest for the assessor.
