On Thursday, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department received 6,700 doses of H1N1 vaccine bringing the total to 35,000 total doses received.
Jaci McReynolds says the Health Department expects to receive two shipments of H1N1 vaccine, instead of one, each week after this.
“Well it’s difficult to say whether this additional shipment will fully meet the demand, but we do know that every additional dose we get is one more person that we’re able to vaccinate so we’re just glad to get any amount.”
McReynolds says the vaccine will continue to be distributed the same way it has been for the past six weeks: health officials are still advising people to call their regular health care providers. Residents can call 864-1166 for updates on the H1N1 vaccine.
