Heavy rain fell across parts of Missouri this morning, prompting flash flood warnings in a number of counties. KSMU’s Missy Shelton reports.
A couple of bands of strong to severe storms rolled through southwest Missouri last night and this morning. Even though there were flash flood warnings for counties in the Ozarks, the heaviest rain was not in Southwest Missouri. Steve Lindenberg is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Springfield.
Lindenberg says we can expect many of the flash flood warnings to be downgraded as we go through the day. There’s still a slight chance of storms and rain this afternoon and tonight but Lindenberg says the main threat from storms will be more to the north and the Ozarks will see a warming trend in the next couple of days.
