Drivers along Highway 60 southeast of Springfield will need to hit the brakes in the coming weeks as road crews make improvements to the highway. KSMU’s Shane Franklin has the details.
Hwy 60 will be resurfaced between Route 125, near Rogersville, and Business 65 in Springfield, according to a statement from the Missouri Department of Transportation, or MoDOT.
The work will take place at night, after 10pm, starting the week of May 20th, and drivers should expect lane closures between 8pm and 6am.
That section of Highway 60 should be finished by mid-July, according to MoDOT.
Crews will also resurface part of Route FF in the city of Battlefield, and another section of Route 60 in Republic, between Illinois Street and Route 174.
Those two projects are scheduled to begin in late summer and continue through December.
These road projects were awarded for a total bid of $3.8 million.
