The non-conference football game between Missouri State University and Sam Houston State University scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24, in Huntsville, Texas, has been cancelled because of Hurricane Rita. The game will not be rescheduled.
Mike Smith has the story:
Missouri State Football Bears Head Coach Randy Ball says a lack of buses and other concerns associated with hurricane Rita has forcecd cancellation of Saturdays game against Sam Houston State in Huntsville Texas. Ball says officials from both schools had hoped to play the game on a neutral field in Dallas, but that too is no longer an option.
Ball says one positive aspect of the cancellation though is the extra time available for the Bears to prepare for their October 1st conference opener at Southern Illinois.
