The Springfield Regional Arts Council will present Jeanne Duffey as guest speaker for The Creamery Writer’s Workshop on Thursday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the board room at the Creamery. Duffey recently retired as community relations director for the Springfield-Greene County Library District after more than 20 years of service. During that time, she wrote a weekly column for the Springfield News-Leader. Before that she worked as a reporter for several years on daily and weekly newspapers. The Creamery Writers' Workshop is an outreach program of the Springfield Regional Arts Council and is free and open to all writers, regardless of age or genre. No registration is required. The group meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday each month from 7 to 8:30p.m. at The Creamery Arts Center across from Hammons Field. If there is a 5th Thursday in the month, writers are welcome to bring in a few pages for critique and open discussion. For further info, call the Springfield Regional Arts Council, 417-862-ARTS(2787).
