Formed in 1974, the American String Quartet is internationally recognized as one of the world’s finest quartets. They perform for Joplin's Pro Musica concert series on Thursday Feb.10 at 7:00pm at First Presbyterian Church, 509 S. Pearl in Joplin. The program includes music by Bach, along with the String Quartet by Samuel Barber and the "Death and the Maiden" quartet by Schubert, interspersed with poems by Shakespeare, Ferlinghetti and others, to be read by the performers.
