McCain To Visit Springfield Wednesday, Campaign Officials Say

Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain is still planning to make a campaign stop in Springfield on Wednesday, according to campaign officials. KSMU's Jennifer Moore reports.

When the McCain campaign cancelled a fundraiser that was to be held in Springfield on Wednesday, doubts were raised as to whether McCain would make it to Springfield at all.

But Crystal Benton, spokesperson for the McCain campaign, says the town hall meetings in still on, although the time has been moved to two o'clock.

Doors will close at 1:30, so Benton encouraged people to arrive early.

The event will be held in Plaster Student Union on the Missouri State University campus in Springfield.

Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by sending an email to Missouri [at] johnmccain [dot] com.
