Mercy announced today it will build a new clinic in Branson, replacing an abandoned motel.
The clinic, planned at highways 65 and 248, will offer the community enhanced healthcare services, including primary and urgent care, a pharmacy, lab and imaging services, and a surgery center.
Lisa Cox, a spokesperson for Mercy, says a decision was made after the hospital’s leadership team conducted research on its healthcare services in Taney County.
“They have found that many people in the Branson area are underserved when it comes to medical specialties, and we’re hoping to fill that need by bringing the care to them,” Cox said.
The building cost is estimated at 34 million dollars. Cox says demolition of the Branson Inn will start immediately, and that Mercy will break ground on the new clinic this summer.
