Messiah Project announces choral auditions for Russian tour in 2010

International Arts Management, a division of Messiah Project, and the Russian Concert Society “Leviticus” will present “Merging Musical Worlds,” a choral concert tour of Russia May 18-June 1st, 2010, and Messiah Project will be auditioning singers for this choir on Saturday Nov.14 from 2-4pm at Credo Arts Center, 931 S. Kickapoo. Singers chosen for the project will be joining a 300-voice choir of Russian and American singers and a 75-piece orchestra. The musical centerpiece of the performances will be selections from Handel’s Messiah, as well as spiritual and patriotic works by modern American composers--the Russian choristers will perform Russian music. As well as exploring the historic cities of St. Petersburg and Moscow, participants will experience the Russian countryside, visiting numerous villages with lots of sightseeing and shopping opportunities. The tour culminates with a performance at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow--the first time Handel’s Messiah has ever been performed there.
