Missouri Delegates Receive Royal Treatment

Missouri's delegates at the Republican National Convention this week say they're getting the royal treatment. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports from New York City.

AND THAT'S SOMETHING THAT IMPRESSED CHRISTD HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECRETARY TOMMY THOMPSON,

THE REPUBLICAN DELEGATES FROM MISSOURI SAY THEY'RE PLEASED WITH THE SPEAKERS THEY'VE HAD AT THEIR MORNING MEETINGS.

DARRELL PROCTOR IS A DELEGATE FROM SPRINGFIELD WHO OWNS A BUSINESS IN WILLARD.

PLETCHER ROGERS, AN ALTERNATE DELEGATE FROM SPART MISSOURI AGREES.

ROGERS SAYS HE CAN TELL THAT MISSOURI IS A KEY STATE IN THIS FALL'S ELECTION BY THE CALIBER OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE SPOKEN TO THE DELEGATION.

HE SAYS THE DELEGATION HAS RECEIVED SPECIAL ATTENTION.

AND IT JUST SO HAPPENS THAT A CLOSE RELATIVE OF PRESIDENT BUSH IS SPENDING A GREAT DEAL OF TIME WITH THE MISSOURI DELEGATES.

WILLIAM BUCKY BUSH IS THE PRESIDENT'S UNCLE AND IS HEADING UP HIS RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN MISSOURI.

BUSH SAYS CANDIDATES WANT TO WIN IN MISSOURI.

SO AS THE CONVENTION NEARS ITS END, MISSOURI DELEGATES SAY THEY'LL COME AWAY FROM THIS NATIONAL EVENT WITH THE FEELING THAT MISSOURI IS IN THE NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT'AT LEAST UNTIL NOVEMBER.
