The KSMU listening area has some winter weather headed our way this Monday morning.

Ryan Kardell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, says a wintry mix is expected to hit Greene and Christian counties around 8:30 or 9:00 am Monday, and last for about an hour before it moves off to the northeast.

“So it should be fairly brief. We’re not looking at this setting in and glazing us over all day. But it will be enough --especially with our ground temperatures being as cold as they are—if we do get a little bit of that freezing precipitation that can get on those very cold roadways, it will make for some very slick conditions out there,” Kardell said.

Several counties in our listening area are under a Winter Weather Advisory until 4:00 this afternoon.
