Oxford Health Care will host a Mother’s Day celebration for daughters whose mothers have passed. KSMU’s Brittany Donnellan has details.
Women and girls of all ages who have lost their mothers are invited to attend Oxford Hospice’s annual Daughter’s Without Mothers spring tea and seminar. As Mother’s Day approaches, the program will give women the opportunity to share and celebrate the lives of their mothers who have passed. Renee Jenkins, the Bereavement Coordinator at Oxford Hospice, says the event is a time of remembrance and strength.
“It’s really not a dark, sad event. It’s a very comforting, uplifting celebration because the way we try to approach it is to look at the ways that our moms have affected our lives and ways they left imprints on our lives. We try to bring women together who have that in common.”
The event will be held on Saturday, April 21st at the Messiah Lutheran Church from 1 to 4 p.m. Women are encouraged to bring a memento of their mother’s life to the celebration. To RSVP or for more information, contact Renee Jenkins at 883-7500.
