Missouri State University President Dr. Michael Nietzel presented to the public his annual address today. The title for this year's address was "The Missouri State University Experience: We Promise Opportunity". KSMU's Alvin Chen reports.
During the one-hour speech, Nietzel talked about improvements that Missouri State University has made during the past year, and gave information on future plans.
First, he said the university is ready for some new degree programs.
Other new programs include information technology and health programs.
According to Nietzel, the university is taking steps to improve campus safety and security.
He also said the university is looking to promote diversity by hiring more minority faculty and staff members, as well as attracting more minority students.
The university president also addressed the topics of financial aid, salary increases, and the promotion of student activities.
