New Branson Airport Announces Second Airline

A second airline has signed on to serve the new Branson Airport. KSMU’s Alvin Chen reports.

On Wednesday, the airport announced that Sun Country Airlines will be the second carrier for the airport. The flight between Branson and Minneapolis will be the third direct flight out of Branson.

Gene Conrad is the deputy director for marketing at the Branson Airport.

In December, the airport announced that AirTran would offer daily direct flights between Branson and Atlanta. In February, AirTran added another direct flight to Milwaukee.

Conrad says the airport is expecting to make another announcement next week about a fourth direct destination.

The airport is scheduled to open in May.
