Missouri Governor Matt Blunt announced a new budget director today. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.
The state's new budget director has experience in both the public and private sectors.
Larry Schepker served as the transition budget director for former governor Kit Bond in 1980.
As budget director for Governor Matt Blunt, Schepker will assist the administration with the fiscal management of the state.
Blunt says Schepker faces a tough budget situation.
Schepker says he's pleased to work for Blunt.
He says he'll work within the guidelines Blunt laid out in his budget proposal last month.
Schepker previously worked as a budget analyst in the 1970's when Missouri state government underwent its last major reorganization.
