Airline passengers gain access to even more destinations. Mike Smith has the story:
Beginning in April, air travelers departing from Springfield/Branson Regional Airport will, through direct flights to Cincinnati Ohio , have access to over 120 U.S. and international destinations. Sherry Wallace is the Director of Marketing and Communications at Springfield/Branson Regional. She says negotiations with Delta-Comm Air Connection have been ongoing for over 2 years.
According to Joe Kauffmann, Director of Corporate Marketing and Communications for Delta-Comm Air Connection, the airline will, on a daily basis, offer 3 incoming and out going flights at Springfield Branson Regional Airport .
Sherry Wallace says Sgf/Branson Regional is actively recruiting carriers to the area. She says, "Even though aviation as a whole has taken some downturns since the terrorist attacks of 2001, Springfield is a desirable market." Wallace says last year alone, over 653,000 passengers flew in and out of the airport. Most of Springfield 's airline passengers travel for business reasons. The rest, Wallace says, fly for fun, family, and friends.
